determined that only his class should be allowed to vote on the pressing matters of the day such as electing the officials and statesmen. While visiting a livestock fair, Galton stumbled upon an intriguing contest he thought would further prove his thinking. An ox was on display and the villagers were invited to guess the animal's weight. Nearly 800 gave it a go, and not surprisingly, not one guessed the exact amount, 1,198 pounds. Proving Galton’s hypothesis...or so he thought. As he collected all the guesses to further prove his belief he astonishingly found the exact opposite. By averaging all 800 guesses to find the mean Galton discovered as a group the crowd came very close. Exactly one pound off, 1,197 pounds. The crowd was amazingly accurate to a fraction of a percent. How Did You Get The Name MakeBeliever?
It was given to us at a very young age. It seems that all our lives we have been called some version of this. Dreamers, Idealists, Pretenders, and Make-Believers. It's always been difficult to hear. However, when we stop and think about it, some of the greatest things the world has every accomplished have been because someone started with a dream. Everything great has started with a "Dreamer". So we decided to build a community where people like us who love to make new things could be celebrated. Embrace what it means to be creative and discover a new tool in the creative process. We put the "S" and the "M" in front of "art" by asking sincere questions, creating new means of distribution, and helping make "believers" of the work we love to make.
MakeBeliever is a new way to launch your work and better
understand the impact it has on the lives of others.
